Sky News UK

Sky News UK have been running this story today regarding SLSWA using twitter to inform the public of tagged shirks.

Problems: A lot of non locals and tourists will not know the area's that are given on twitter & unless you look at SLSWA on Twitter you will not see the alert.

iKoast solves these problems by showing the shark pin as an accurate pin on the map & by sending a push notification direct to all users regarding the alert. We will also notify users of any NON Tagged Sharks that are sighted by the public.

Reduce Your Risk

In a recent assessment of 546 Australian print media articles that contained injury as a key word (which includes shark attacks), only 20% of reports discuss possible preventive measures.

Public attitudes and understanding of issues are influenced by media coverage, and so the media should be taking a more proactive approach to protect people from harm by offering advice instead of just reporting the incident.
